5 bowls apiece seems to be about our limit. The Mongolian sauce was the clear favourite (not surprisingly). Definitely a place to come back to.

Kirstin and I just wanted you to know that we were there in spirit, with our not-AYCE steaks.

It’s a team effort this week. The A-Team. 5 people aiming for Korean BBQ glory. Sure, there were only 4 in the original A-Team, so we doubled up on Mr T. If you’re in trouble… If nobody else will help… If you happen to be in an AYCE restaurant… Call the A-Team.

A good showing this week. 10 folk sat down, 10 people waddled away.  Govindas offered us a somewhat random selection of dishes all undoubtedly vegetarian, but the cuisines varied.  We had pasta, battered cauliflower, a couple of curries, a fake meatball thingy, several salads, wedges, dahl, brown bread and an assortment of sauces, condiments…  Oh, and a rather inexplicable wasabi mayonnaise which stymied those expecting a minted yoghurt! It all felt like it would somehow wash down a bit more easily with a nice cold beer really.  I opted for the mint tea, while others headed down the mango lassi path.  After last week’s capacity-reducing mango cocktail thingy, I thought I might play it safe and have tea.  Apparently it made not a whit of difference to my overall score of 2 plates!

The time constraints presented barriers to those looking for breathing time between rounds, but Kirstin wows us all with a fantastic 3 Plate win. 6 of the team carried on to the movie, off to digest Sex and The City along with their lentils.

Good show team – I’m looking forward to next week… perhaps some meat may be on the cards?

The night has started with a promising sign of what is to come: a toilet seat held together with gaff (see photo). Clearly the spicy vego delights have gotten the better of foolhardy explorers who have gone before.

Lots of things that look like meat are not meat at a vegetarian restaurant. We were also confused by the “non alcoholic drinks” section of the menu, which seemed to suggest that there might be the other kind too (there weren’t).

Warnie stole a bowl of pappadums from a child. Kirstin came into her own on a stage that played to her strengths. The rest of us put in a showing, but are saving ourselves for the meat rounds.
