Thanks to Jeff’s excellent on-site reporting, I am now discovering that as a team we downed tacos very close to a rate of $1 per taco… and that’s 63.5 tacos as a group total, by the way! In other ways of putting things into perspective, we’re talking 1 taco every 1.8 minutes at the table.
It was a totally ridiculous evening heightened by excessive amounts of really quite average tacos… tacos which might not actually be called tacos in certain Central American regions. Where was the salsa? Points for consistency though – each one really did taste just like the last.
And many points to Jeff, Colin and Yaui who managed to ingest TEN tacos. While we all started off the night with high expectations of our own personal taco counts… it turned out that the high refried bean content was far more filling than we knew.
It was an excellent starting point, however, and we look forward with shining eyes and slightly larger stomachs to next week’s conquest…

I reckon I could have consumed another 3 tacos after I returned from my errand-running… alas our red-headed barman had gone…
I’ll just have to prove myself next weekend. Lucky for me I have a weekend of vegan food at Splendour to train on :)
